Education cuts have been in the news lately… and school districts in Tuolumne County are not immune.
Ken Harbord is the district superintendent for the Sonora School District. He says they´re having to face up to cuts they avoided making last year… combined with budgetary issues and reduced enrollment.
“I think by the time the board gets ready to make that decision, they definitely will be making an educated one, on what people are willing to do to reduce costs and increase income, and then when we can´t do anything more, that´s when you have to reduce staff,” says Harbord.
Another in a series of budget meetings for Sonora School District is happening tomorrow at Sonora Elementary.
The meeting begins at 5:30pm.
