State Wineries Break Record

The Wine Institute reported yesterday that California wineries broke a record for shipments last year. They shipped more than 490 million-gallons of wine — 6 percent more than the previous year. The sales spurred by the popularity of “extreme value” wines, such as the Charles Shaw “Two-Buck Chuck” have helped cut into inventories.
Analysts say that´s an optimistic sign for state wineries and grape growers.
