Sonora, CA — Close to 500 families will have food for the holidays and toys for their children thanks to the Benites family of Benites Distributing and Clarke Broadcasting.
Organizers say the 19th annual Family to Family project is a tradition that makes Christmas a little brighter for those less fortunate families in the Mother Lode by providing them with toys and food.
More than 100 families are from Tuolumne County, and many of them have six or more children. This year with the help of several Mother Lode banks 311 children received toys.
On Saturday morning volunteers packed boxes and the food and toys were delivered by patrol cars from the Sheriff´s Department, Sonora Police Department, California Highway Patrol, and the Sheriff´s Posse.
