Bush Sworn In For 2nd Term

President George W. Bush has been sworn in for his second term as U.S. president.

He was flanked by his daughters and the first lady as he approached the podium to give his innaugural address. The speech focused on liberty, democracy and acknowledged the consequential times we live in. Bush referred to the Country´s vulnerability and terrorism. The President stressed that the force of human freedom would overcome the forces of hatred. Bush also stated that America has an obligation to spread democracy and end tyranny in the world.

He says citizens should honor those who have “shown their devotion to our country in deaths.” In his ianugural address, Bush praised those who have served in the military, intelligence, diplomacy and “the idealistic work of helping raise up free governments.” Bush urged young Americans “to serve in a cause larger than your wants.” He says in America “the exercise of rights is ennobled by service and mercy and a heart for the weak.”

Today marks the 55th Innauguration in the United States.
