Copperopolis, CA — A fire that burned 12 acres of woodland in Copperopolis also injured a firefighter Thursday.
The fire broke out at around 1 p.m. at 4700 Morgan Road.
Barbara George with CDF says the firefighter was from a helicopter crew out of Columbia. The unidentified man sprained his ankle.
The fire was extinguished at close to 8 p.m. The cause was an escaped debris burn, which was out of compliance.
