San Andreas, CA — Two former school district employees suing the Calaveras County Office of Education for sexual discrimination have dropped their lawsuit.
According to Calaveras Superior Court, the case, filed by Jackie Hamilton and Cathy Stone-Carlson, was dismissed on August 15. The settlement details were not available.
A court clerk says the matter was dismissed with prejudice, which means the plaintiffs cannot re-file the same action.
The Calaveras Unified School District and Bret Harte Unified School District were also defendants in the suit.
Hamilton and Stone-Carlson alleged that some of their male colleagues in lesser positions were making more money than them. Court documents say the employer was asked to remedy the situation, after which, the women were denied extra pay and were harassed.
