Assault With Flashlight Lands Sonora Man In Jail

Pine Mountain Lake, CA — A Sonora man is facing assault with a deadly weapon charges after a bloody brawl at Pine Mountain Lake over the weekend.

The Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Department says soon after the fireworks show ended, Deputy O. Imlach was flagged down by security and told there was a fight in progress.

He responded and found the victim, a 23-year-old man, covered in blood with a head injury. The victim said he´d been surrounded by the suspect and several of his friends.

The confrontation turned physical and the suspect struck him in the head with a metal flashlight. Witnesses led deputies to Jay Garcia and they noticed he had blood spattered on his face.

Garcia was identified as being the person who struck the victim on the head with a metal flashlight. Deputies arrested Garcia and transported him to the county jail to be booked to his charge.
