More Work Approved For Sports Complex

Angels Camp, CA — New baseball and softball fields are in the works for the developing sports complex in Angels Camp.

The Bret Harte Union High School District Board approved a nearly $500,000 contract for the work at its meeting Monday.

Bret Harte has never had a softball field. It currently uses Copello Park.

The multi-purpose sports complex being built by the non-profit Bret Harte-Angels, Inc. is located on Murphys Grade Road across from Bret Harte High School on district property.

When complete, it will include tennis and basketball courts, softball and baseball diamonds, a soccer field, a swimming pool and classrooms.

The tennis and basketball courts should be complete in about one month. Next will come the ball fields, then the swimming pool.
