Angels Camp, Ca — State Senator Dave Cox was the guest speaker at the Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce Luncheon Thursday at Greenhorn Creek.
One of the topics he addressed is the County´s need for a new jail. “I salute the Sheriff for placing a bond measure on the ballot,” Cox said afterwards.
“It is a situation where bond money will be available from the State of California, and counties that will get the first claim are those with matching funds.”
The bond measure up for vote asks Calaveras County residents to put up twenty-five percent of the cost of a new facility. During the luncheon, Cox also touched on the need for more water storage in the state, as well as more accessible healthcare.
