Pictures Released By Law Enforcement Wrongly Identify Grand Theft Suspect
Sonora, Ca — The Sonora Police Department says photos it released on Monday falsely identify a suspect wanted for Grand Theft.
The photos allegedly showed a “Most Wanted” suspect using an ATM at the specified time of a theft. The pictures were provided by the victim through the bank.
It was later discovered that there was a mix-up, likely due to the ATM machine´s time stamp, and the individual pictured is not in any way involved in the crime. The individual pictured was simply performing a transaction, and taking out his own money.
The Sonora Police Department says it wishes to apologize for any inconvenience or embarrassment incurred.
