Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — 52 year old Dennis Harvey of Columbia was booked into the County Jail Wednesday afternoon after being involved in a road rage incident in the Sonora Carpet Mart parking lot.

According to the Sonora Police Department report, Harvey was a passenger in a Ford Explorer that had cut off the reporting and unidentified party. When that party honked at the Explorer, Harvey became agitated and starting yelling and “flipping off” the reporting party. When that party stopped its vehicle Harvey challenged the individual to a fight. Chest butting was then followed by Harvey threatening the driver of the reporting party with a knife stating that he was going to “stick” him.

At that point the reporting party and a passenger walked away from the scene as other individuals attempted to restore peace.

Officers located Harvey inside Tub N Toys washing his dog. He denied the incident had ever happened. Officers noticed that Harvey appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance. They also found him to be in possession of over a gram of methamphetamine and a knife matching the description of the weapon pulled on the reporting party.

Harvey was booked into the County Jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance, being under the influence of a controlled substance, criminal threats, battery, brandishing a deadly weapon and challenging an individual to fight.
