Angels Camp Seeking New Police Chief

Sponsored by:

Angels Camp, CA — 56 year old Tony Tacheira will be stepping down as Angels Camp police chief in the very near future.

The 38 year law enforcement veteran has served as the Angels Camp police chief for the past five and a half years. Now, he says, is the right time to step aside and turn the reigns over to his successor.

No date has been set for Tacheira´s departure. He would like to stay on to assist the new chief in becoming comfortable in the position.

Tacheira started his law enforcement career as an Army MP. The Atwater, CA native then joined the Merced Police Department where he spent three and a half years before a 20 year stint with the Atwater Department. He then served as chief of police in Dos Palos for seven years before making the move to Angels Camp.

Tacheira´s greatest satisfaction; observing young officers mature and move up in the ranks and hoping that perhaps he somehow helped develop them into outstanding officers.
