Chip Fire Hits S.P.I. Standard Facility

Sonora, CA — At 5:40 Tuesday evening the CAL FIRE – Tuolumne County Fire Department was called to extinguish a wood chip fire at the Sierra Pacific Industries Standard facility.
According to Fire Information Officer Craig Hart, three engines and three water tenders responded to the fire.
Cause of the fire remains under investigation. There were no injuries and no reported damage to any structure.
