A Day Of Reckoning For Tuolumne General Hospital
Sonora, CA — The countdown continues for the supervisors´ final decision regarding the fate of Tuolumne General Hospital.
It will take place shortly after County Administrative Officer Craig Pedro completes his 1:30 recommendation today.
Five options were considered and Pedro has chosen the privatization model with the skilled nursing facility (long term care) and the Psych Unit to remain operational for the next three years.
As for taking over operation of the existing clinics, he is considering Sonora Regional Medical Center, the Tuolumne Me-Wuk Indian Health Center and the Mariposa-Amador-Calaveras-Tuolumne, or MACT, Health Board. Pedro says he will report back to the Board with that recommendation April 24.
The format for today´s supervisorial meeting calls for general business from nine until 10:30. At 10:30 members of the public who have yet to speak on the T.G.H. issue will be allowed to do so. The lunch break will follow those comments. At 1:30 Pedro will make his formal recommendation to the Board and shortly thereafter the five supervisors will cast their votes.
