Officials Find Trees Cut Down Near Marijuana Grow
Strawberry, Ca — On Thursday, 7,475 marijuana plants were eradicated near Sawmill Mountain in the Groveland area, and on Friday another 3,383 were pulled from the Lily Creek region above Strawberry.
?A special area of concern with this last marijuana grow was the severe resource damage done to the area,? says Deputy Paul Tualla with the Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Office.
?The suspects cut down over 200 trees in an approximately three acre plot. The trees were cut in order for the marijuana plants to receive more sunlight and have a bigger growing area.?
The total number of marijuana plants eradicated in Tuolumne County this year is 104,780. No suspects were located near the garden.
