Strawberry, Ca — There is a 7-10 acre vegetation fire in the Cottonwood Campground area of the Stanislaus National Forest.
The fire is located in an isolated area east of Strawberry and west of the Dardanelles. Spokesperson Pat Kaunert says that engines are using Clark´s Fork Rd. to get access to the area.
No structures are at risk with this fire. Kaunert notes that individuals in the region should be on the lookout for fire equipment both on the ground and in the air. He adds that smoke jumpers have been dispatched and will be parachuting toward the fire.
