Shingle Springs Youth Identified As Amber Alert Victim

Jackson, CA — According to News10 (KXTV/ABC, Sacramento), two year old Andrew Bailey´s body was found in some brush near a creek close to the K-Mart store on Wicklow Way in Jackson earlier this evening.

According to El Dorado County Sheriff´s Department Sgt. Bryan Golmitz, Andrew´s father, 50 year old Charles Bailey, abducted his son after beating his girlfriend early this morning at a Shingle Springs residence. The boy´s mother was transported to Mercy Hospital in Folsom for treatment of her severe injuries.

Several hours later Bailey, after some resistance, was arrested at the Flyers Shell service station on Mono Way in Sonora by Tuolumne County Sheriff´s deputies with an assist from other law enforcement agencies.

According to Sgt. Jim Oliver of the Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Department, search teams from El Dorado, Amador, Calaveras and Tuolumne counties were involved in the search for Andrew.
