Bay Bridge Still CLOSED

San Francisco, CA — The Oakland-San Francisco Bay Bridge is still closed to the 280,000 vehicles that use it each day.
Last night Caltrans Spokesman Bart Ney expressed optimism that it might open for the morning commute but that was not to be. It’s closed this morning and there’s no word on when it might reopen.
Tuesday evening approximately 5,000 pounds of steel framework and cable fell to the East Span pavement.
Each day the bridge is closed approximateley $1,120,000 is lost because nobody is traveling through the toll booths.
