Supervisors Will Discuss Law And Justice Center In Early October

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — Tuolumne CAO Craig Pedro announced Tuesday that the proposed Law and Justice Center project will be on the October 6th Supervisors agenda.

The Planning Commission recommended, by a series of 5-2 votes last week, to certify the Environmental Impact Report, adopt a mitigation monitoring program, determined that it is consistent with the county’s General Plan, and recommended that it be rezoned to allow for public use.

If approved by the Supervisors, the $253 million project will house the Sheriff’s Office, Jail, CHP facility, courts, juvenile detention facility and other offices. It would be built in multiple stages.

The proposed site for the project is located on Old Wards Ferry Rd. off the Hwy 108 Bypass.
