Over 16,000 Marijuana Plants Eradicated In Calaveras County

Sheep Ranch, CA — 16,932 marijuana plants were eradicated in Calaveras County this week.

Multiple search warrants were served on properties in the areas of Sheep Ranch Rd. and Fricot City Rd. No subjects were located, but ammunition and other firearm paraphernalia were confiscated.

The Sheriff’s Department believes the marijuana was being grown by a Mexican Drug Trafficking Organization.

The latest seizure brings the total number of marijuana plants eradicated this summer in Calaveras County to 38,306.

The Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the state’s Campaign Against Marijuana Planting and the Department of Fish and Game.
