Jamestown, CA — An escaped Sierra Conservation Center inmate is back behind bars.

On February 25th, 39-year-old Jerry Chu escaped from the Vallecito Conservation Camp.

Special Agents have been investigating the matter and successfully located Chu Thursday at an apartment complex in San Jose. Chu was arrested without incident and transported to the Deuel Vocational Institute in Tracy. From there, he was subsequently transported back to the Sierra Conservation Center.

Vallecito Conservation Camp houses approximately 110 minimum security inmates and is located three miles above Angels Camp along Hwy 4. It is jointly operated by CAL Fire and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
