New Job For Radanovich
Former 19th District Congressman George Radanovich has a new job.
This week the Mariposa resident announced that he will be serving as senior advisor to the DEH Group, a newly formed government relations firm.
The DEH Group consists of Radanovich and former congressional staffer and trade association lobbyist David Hebert. During Radanovich’s 16-year congressional career, the two men were neighbors in northern Virginia.
“Dave is a lobbyist, although I am not,” said Radanovich. “By law I cannot contact another member of Congress or talk business with them for the first year out of office. But I can refer people to Dave and that’s why it works well.”
After serving 8 terms in the U.S Congress, Radanovich retired in 2010 to be with his family. He returned to Mariposa following the death of his wife Ethie to raise their 12 year-old son, rebuild the family vineyard and establish The Four Institutions Foundation, to restore the institutions of the Cultural Mandate in America.
Radanovich says the best part of his new position at the DEH Group is that he gets to stay in California, which was his main goal.
“I have no desire to be going back to Washington anymore,” said Radanovich. “But I do enjoy helping people out when they need help and I like it for that reason. I’m missing folks in Sonora but am enjoying myself in the other foothill town of Mariposa.”
