Sacramento, CA — A Superior Court Judge says more analysis must be done before fully implementing AB 32, California’s greenhouse gas laws.

A San Francisco Superior Court Judge claims in a tentative ruling that the California Air Resources Board violated state environmental law in 2008 by not studying alternatives for its comprehensive action plan.

CARB’s plan is designed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions down to 1990 levels by 2020. The judge will release a final ruling on Tuesday, according to the Associated Press. It is not known exactly what CARB will have to do to be in compliance. Full text of AB 23 from the Official Voter Information Guide is here.
