Calaveras Sheriff’s Office Investigating Violations In Mountain Ranch

Mountain Ranch, CA — Officials are looking closely at a site in Mountain Ranch that is littered with burned trash, liquid waste and petroleum products.

The property is along Ponderosa Way near the intersection of Doster Way.  There is a 30 ft. travel trailer parked at the location that is being lived out of. The sheriff’s office reports the site is directly above a year-round creek that flows into the Mokelumne River watershed. The violations are occurring directly on a public roadway and on the border of public land (Bureau of Land Management).

The sheriff’s office confirms one citation has already been issued in regards to drugs found at the spot. The person cited is 49-year-old Paul Martinez of Mountain Ranch. He was also found to be illegally in possession of ammunition. An investigation is ongoing in cooperation with the Calaveras County Code Compliance and the BLM.
