San Andreas, CA — Today marks the beginning of several major Butte Fire disaster-related roadway reconstruction projects, officials say.
According to the Calaveras County Office of Emergency Services
(OES), the work is being done in collaboration with the county’s Department of Public Works. Through summer, initial areas of focus are the following: West Murray, Cave City, Whiskey Slide, Michel, Potteroff, Baker Riley, Old Gulch, Doster, Worden and Hawver roads along with Ponderosa Way.
OES and Public Works staff will continue field work, marking roadway sections that are already identified as part of the Butte Fire roads project.
Since traffic delays are anticipated as construction progresses, officials request the community’s patience and caution while driving through the cone zones for the safety of all concerned.
