Saddle Up, It’s Rodeo Time

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — The riding, roping and barrel race continues at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds today.  The grandstands were packed yesterday as the Mother Lode Round-up rodeo got under way.  The crowd was not disappointed as cowboys and girls took to the ring strutting there slick moves.  It was a bumpy ride for some as the calves gave them a run for their money in the roping contest.  The broncos did their best to buck off riders, but the cowboys held strong. Even some little folks got into the action trying to see how long they could ride a sheep in the Mutton Busting contest.

Today is the last day of the rodeo here are some of the key events:

  • Mother’s Day Breakfast: 8 AM – 12 noon, Mother Lode Fairgrounds, admission $7.00 per person
  • Cowboy Church with Coy Huffman: 10:00 a.m., Mother Lode Fairgrounds Grandstands
