Candidates Gearing Up For Election

Sonora, CA — Several local candidates have begun the process of collecting needed signatures to be on the ballot this coming June.


The Tuolumne Election’s Office reports that candidates could begin pulling paperwork on December 27. Candidates for county and city positions must have the paperwork returned by February 20. The deadline for the Judge positions is February 5.  


The following candidates have pulled paperwork as of this morning:

Tuolumne County Supervisor District Three

Tuolumne County Auditor-Controller

Tuolumne County Superintendent of Schools

Tuolumne County Sheriff

Tuolumne County Assessor-Recorder

Tuolumne County Treasurer-Tax Collector

Superior Court Judge (First Seat)

Superior Court Judge (Second Seat)

The Election’s Office reports that no candidates have pulled papers at this time for the two open Sonora City Council seats or the District Attorney’s race.


Candidates for T.U.D., School Board, and fire protection districts do not file paperwork until July.
