Royce Elected Chairman

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors has selected a leader for 2014.

The Chairperson is typically chosen on a rotating basis, and District Three Supervisor Evan Royce had served as Vice-Chair this past year. Royce was elected 5-0, and took the gavel from District Two Supervisor Randy Hanvelt.

“I have some big shoes to follow, as Chairman Hanvelt has done a great job over the past year,” says Royce. “Hopefully we’ll have some good accomplishments for the year.”

When asked about what will be the main issues of 2014 for the Supervisors, Royce stated, “Obviously Rim Fire is still something that is on our agenda, and we’ll be dealing with a lot of the cleanup and timber harvesting efforts. Looking for additional road funding is something I’m focused on, public safety is a big issue, and continuing to try to make Tuolumne County more business friendly.”

The Board also voted 5-0 to elect District Four Supervisor John Gray the Vice Chair.
