Santana High School Has Scare

Sponsored by:

Dozens of officers rushed to Santana High School after a hallway scuffle led to false reports of “shots fired” on campus.

Lieutenant Bill Hogue said the false alarm was caused when the San Diego County Sheriff´s Department got a report of a disturbance at the school just after 10 am Friday.

Up to As many as 30 deputies and detectives, descended on the campus in emergency operation mode.

All the commotion brought back horrible memories for some, who tearfully remembered March 5, when a freshman opened fire, killing two students and wounding 13 others.

Deputies don´t know what started the fistfight Friday between the two male students, who, along with two others, were arrested on a variety of counts. It was also unclear how the false report got started.
