Apparent Murder Suicide In Twain Harte

Sponsored by:

A grim story this Christmas, a Twain Harte couple is dead in an apparent murder suicide.

Tuolumne County Sheriffs dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call Monday night from a man saying he had just shot his wife in the head during an heated argument. While on the phone with the man the dispatcher heard a gun shot.

Deputies arrived at the home on the 19900 block of Middle Camp Road to find the man with a single gun shot wound to the head and the woman, lying in the bedroom, also shot in the head, but still breathing. She was pronounced dead at Tuolumne General Hospital.

Authorities say a baby was found sleeping at the home and has been taken into protective child services. They have not said whether the infant was the couple´s child.

The identity of the couple has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin. Both were 42 years old.
