A Rose Parade float has been put on hold this morning after it got snared by some overhead phone lines on its way to Pasadena.
The CHP says the 16-foot float was heading to the Rose Bowl to be decorated for the New Year’s Day parade when the accident occurred at about 3:30 a.m. in nearby San Marino.
No one was hurt, but the float sponsored by Cal Poly San Luis Obispo did drag down a phone pole, which in turn pulled down some power lines in a neighborhood. One home was left without power, and a truck also sustained minor damage.
The float escaped unscathed.
