Conditions on the Stanislaus National Forest are right for burning slash.
U.S. Forest Services spokesman Pat Kaunert says smoke will be visible at numerous locations within the forest boundaries.
“Firefighting crews will igniting about a dozen different burns in various locations across the forest today,” Kaunert said. “Most of that will be hand pile burning and not broadcast burning. But it is expected to put up a little bit of smoke.”
Kaunert says burn piles are located in Tuolumne and Calaveras counties.
