Voters Still Not Sure

Sponsored by:

The polls show a quarter of California voters remain undecided on the governor’s race. And election pollsters say they’ve never seen anything like it.

Republicans are considering voting Green. Democrats are considering voting Republican. Many say when it comes to Democrat Gray Davis and Republican Bill Simon, they are trying to pick the lesser of two evils.

Political analyst Shanto Iyengar of Stanford University says the race for insurance commissioner may draw more votes.

The latest Field Poll reveals that most Protestants favor Simon while most Roman Catholics like Davis. The poll also found that women, union members and minorities prefer Davis, while whites in general prefer Simon.

But with a quarter of voter’s undecided, no one’s sure what’ll happen at the polls Tuesday.
