California farm officials say that farmers and ranchers need financial incentives for upgrading equipment to improve air quality.
Cynthia Cory with the California Farm Bureau says growers are going to ask the Air Quality Board for those types of credits. “The (farming) industry needs to look at ways that we can get what are called emission reduction credits,” Cory said. She says industries already get those credits.
Many farmers believe the move would prove that state officials are working to clean up the air while providing financial incentives for farmers to make upgrades.
