One residence and one barn were destroyed by a Calaveras County brush fire on Friday afternoon, although officials say no one was in the home that was destroyed.
Multiple outbuildings were also lost, according to the CDF.
The fire was along Highway 12 near Burson, in the Valley Springs area, and was first dispatched at 2:45 friday afternoon.
The forward spread of the fire was stopped just before 4pm, and the fire was contained a short time later, after burning 62 acres of land.
CDF dispatchers say fire crews will be working during the overnight hours to fully extinguish the remaining hot spots.
The cause of the blaze has not been determined.
