Oracle Can Review Private Documents in Lawsuit

Oracle Corporation´s in-house attorneys can review documents revealing the industry secrets of Microsoft and other major software rivals.
That´s the ruling in today from a California federal court judge in an antitrust case seeking to block Oracle´s hostile takeover bid for PeopleSoft.
Microsoft and eight other software makers had asked U-S District Judge Vaughn R. Walker to prevent Oracle lawyers from seeing sensitive information gathered by the Department of Justice.
Oracle said its case would be unfairly weakened if the company´s attorneys couldn´t examine key evidence from the firms opposed to the takeover.
