Charity was the name of the game Saturday at the Sonora Family Bowl as the United Way held its 7th Annual Bowl-a-Thon.
Spokesman Bob Edwards said throughout the course of the event about 180 bowlers turned out for the charitable cause. “We´re probably going hit over $20,000 with sponsors, so we´re right on the mark again,” said Edwards.
The event also included a silent auction. Funds raised Saturday stays in Tuolumne and Calaveras Counties. “All the money stays local,” Edwards explained. “It funds all our agencies and it helps us to make ends meet.”
