Fire Official Accused of 1988 Molestation

A Fire Department official has pleaded not guilty to sexual assault charges in Calaveras County.
Fire Chief Erie Donald Young Senior is charged with raping and molesting his sister-in-law back in 1988, while she was a senior at Calaveras High School.
At a hearing next month, the date for Young´s jury trial will be scheduled.
The charges against Young first came to light in 2002, after a bomb was found in the alleged victim´s mailbox in Sacramento County.
During the investigation, the woman told detectives that Young had repeatedly forced himself on her 14 years previously.
The 49-year-old Young was arrested last August but was released on 50-thousand dollars bail.
His not-guilty plea was entered Monday in Calaveras County Superior Court.
