Sonora, CA — The completion of Sonora High School´s Dunlavy Field has been delayed by a day because of an equipment malfunction.
Principal Terry Clark says the delay isn´t significant and the project is expected to be completed this afternoon.
Clark says the crews will finish the top coat of silica sand and ground up rubber before checking the field and looking carefully at the edges. Then the regional construction manager is expected to sign off the project.
Clarke says that Field Turf has commented that the exceptional work done by preparation crews has resulted in a field that is superior to many NFL and college facilities, and possibly one of the best fields the company has installed.
The grand opening is scheduled for the 26th, two weeks before the Wildcat´s first home game against Johansen of Modesto.
