Parrots Ferry Road To Reopen At About 11:00
Sonora, CA — CHP is reporting a traffic accident on Parrots Ferry Road that has the highway closed at Porcina Way.
Officer Brad Schultz of the CHP says the road should be reopened at about 11:00 this morning as authorities wait for crews to clear downed utility lines from the highway.
Schultz says it all began shortly after ten last night when a southbound vehicle left the road and struck a power pole. Schultz says that as the first pole began to fall, it caused a second pole to go down. The falling utility lines then apparently fell on another vehicle passing by.
CDF crews also responded to the scene to put out a small grass fire caused by the downed power lines.
Schultz says PG&E crews are on scene and police are waiting for SBC to arrive.
