Murphys, CA– Many Mother Lode residents who enjoy spoiling their pet found even more enjoyment after taking their furry friends to Murphys to get a photo taken with Santa.
The Calaveras County Humane Society hosted the 2nd Annual Paws and Claws event at the Masonic Hall where pet owners sat their animal on Santa´s lap to get a photo.
Organizer Laura Dashner says the money raised will go toward the spaying and neutering of the pets in the county whose owners are low income and need financial assistance.
The cost was ten dollars and about 200 photos were taken. Dashner says a variety of animals were brought into the Hall; one owner even brought in a duck. She says the group is now looking foreword to next year´s event which will be on the 1st Saturday of December.
