Sonora, CA– The new Ambulance Headquarters-Fire Administration and Emergency Operations Center at Striker Court across from Standard Road will be open soon.
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held earlier today to dedicate the thirteen thousand square foot building that will be a 24/7 operation. C.D.F. Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit Chief Mike Noonan says this facility has been needed in this community for many years.
The facility will house a working ambulance station, an office facility for both fire and ambulance administration and will also serve as the county´s Emergency Operation Center during a disaster.
Senior Administrative Analyst and Director of Emergency Operations Mo Frank says that when there is no emergency, the Emergency Operation Center can be rented out to the county or used by various community groups.
