Day Fire Finally Contained In Southern California

Ventura County, CA — Firefighters have fully surrounded the massive Day Fire.
A C.D.F. spokesman says the blaze was fully contained at 6PM Monday. Crews will now focus on putting out hot spots to prevent flames from jumping the 163-mile fire line. The blaze has burned more than 162,000 acres or 250 square miles since erupting from a debris burn on Labor Day.
Total cost of fighting the fire to date; $73 million.
