Vegetation Fire Closed Hwy 49 Wednesday

Sonora, CA — Highway 49 at State Route 120 was closed for more than an hour and half Wednesday evening due to a 10 acre vegetation fire in Moccasin.
CDF- Tuolumne County Fire Department officials say several engines responded to the blaze, which jumped the roadway at one point.
CHP officers escorted traffic on the east side of the roadway during the fire; however because traffic was being alternated, the vehicles began to stack up.
Power was also out in the area because the fire was burning dangerously close to a power house.
