Sonora, CA — Friday evening a 100,000 gallon water tank, operated by the Sonora Water Company, collapsed on North Drive.
The tank is utilized for both residential and fire use. The collapsed tank caused immediate damage to at lease one residence. Neighbors in the immediate area are now using water on a restricted basis.
Sonora Water Company is in the process of installing two emergency tanks in an effort to allievate the immediate shortage.
The C.D.F.-Tuolumne County Fire Department has allocated one tender to the area in case of a fire.
