Memorial Day Traffic Departs The Mother Lode

Jamestown, CA — 55 mph may be the speed limit along Highway 108 entering Jamestown, but not a single vehicle was traveling that speed Monday afternoon as Memorial Day weekend vacationers departed the Mother Lode.

As the cars and trucks rolled by, an American Flag blowing gently in the breeze, reminded the travelers of why we celebrate Memorial Day … to pay tribute to all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in defending the freedoms we so enjoy in this country.

As the sun lowers in the west, the California foothills empty of those who have chosen to spend their Memorial Day weekend in one of the most picturesque area of California. We call it home … we call it the Mother Lode!
