Bear Valley Found Not Negligent

Sponsored by:

San Andreas, CA — The verdict is for the defendant in the case against Bear Valley Ski Company filed by former employee Charlene Vine.

The jury trial came to a close Wednesday.

Vine, of Murphys, sued the former owners of the resort when she became paralyzed after attempting a snowboard jump made at an employee party in 2000.

Vine´s attorney said the jump was dangerously built but the jury disagreed. Jurors decided Bear Valley was not negligent and the sport itself was dangerous. No damages were awarded.
