Twain Harte Man Faces Animal Cruelty Charges Wednesday
Sonora, CA — A Twain Harte man is scheduled to face charges of felony cruelty after starving his dogs to death.
The group, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, sent an urgent plea to Tuolumne County District Attorney Donald Segerstrom urging him to prosecute 28-year- old Raymond DeLeon to the fullest extent of the law.
DeLeon faces charges stemming from the discovery of the rotting remains of his two dogs last month.
PETA says the animals were chained behind his home, deprived of food, and rainwater was the only water available to them.
PETA is asking that if convicted, in addition to serving a period of incarceration, DeLeon be banned for life from contact with animals.
