Sonora, CA — With the southern California fires cutting a swarth through the southland, now is the time to be exceptionally careful on burn days in the Mother Lode.
Those are the words of Assistant County Fire Warden Julie Henriques who states that a tremendous number of Mother Lode resources including 350 plus firefighters, one helicopter, at least one tanker and a dozer are all “out of unit” fighting fires in southern California.
Henriques admits that “burn days” have been cancelled for the time being due to the shortage of resources even though burn permits are now available.
Henriques says it is imperative that you have defined defensible space on your property and have your residence and business address properly marked for firefighters.
