Twain Harte, Ca — At a meeting held last night, the Twain Harte Long-Barn Union Elementary School District filled two open School Board seats.
According to Superintendent John Keiter, Elizabeth “Betty” Jespersen and Dennis Spisak were appointed to terms beginning December, 2007 and concluding in November of 2011.
Jespersen retired in 2005 as the District Superintendent´s Secretary. She was running unopposed for one of two open seats and was therefore appointed by the Board.
Spisak has been a sitting member of the School Board since 2000. He was not on the slate to run in the election due to a mix-up on filing deadlines for incumbents. Spisak was approved by the Board, and is now set to serve for at least another four years.
